Central Public Health and Environmental Engineering Organisation (CPHEEO) is the technical wing of Ministry of Urban Affairs and Employment functioning as the nodal organisation at the national level to deal with urban water supply and sanitation including solid waste management. |

Low cost and appropriate technology in water supply, sewerage and sanitation, water supply and waste (liquid and solid) management, re-cycling and re-use of waste water and solid wastes, low cost sanitation etc. |

| Mechanism of implementation and monitoring | |||||||

| Objective | |||||||
To develop design criteria for shallow soil infiltration basins with aquatic plants for renovation of sewage, to identify limiting factors in the operation of the system and to test the efficiency of the system in the removal of organics. |

After initial scrutiny by CPHEEO, the proposals are considered by the R&D Committee set up by the Ministry for approval. |

The progress of the project is reviewed by the CPHEEO. The PI is required to submit progress report whenever it is called for. |
|||||||
Fifty to two hundred fifty copies of the PCR are required to be submitted. These are forwarded to the concerned state level organisations for implementation of the research findings. |

Testing of Dip slide technique with respect to fecal coliform removal in different waste water treatment plants. Standardisation of Dip slides, cost benefit analysis of Dip slide technique and preparation of disposable slides for marketing. |
